What should I look for when choosing a receiving warehouse for my design projects?
When choosing a receiving warehouse, consider whether they are equipped to handle the types of projects your design firm focuses on (i.e., Residential, Commercial, Staging, Hospitality, etc.). Each type of project has different requirements and budget considerations. Additionally, consider the company's culture and values. A positive, customer-focused culture often translates to better service and a stronger business relationship. A company with good culture is a good sign of happy employees. Happy employees tend to be more helpful and proactive, ensuring a positive experience for you.
Lastly, request a tour of their facility. Seeing firsthand how organized and clean the facility is can provide valuable insight into how they handle your items. It also offers a glimpse into the energy and morale of the employees, which reflects the company's overall culture.

What sets DMI Denver apart from other receivers?
At DMI, our culture is driven by a deep commitment to customer service. Since our founding in 2009, we've always believed that exceptional customer service is key to our success. Today, it remains at the heart of everything we do. As we continue to grow and innovate in our industry, we are always learning and refining our logistics processes.
We also place a high value on transparency and dynamic communication. To support this, we have enrolled our team members in communication and leadership coaching classes, which have fostered growth and empowerment. We are dedicated to investing in our team members to ensure a happy and healthy work environment. They are our greatest asset, and we are truly grateful for each and every one of them, whom we consider part of our extended family.

What are your procedures for managing inventory and keeping track of my items?
We log every item that arrives at our warehouse on the day it is received. Items are processed in the order they arrive by opening, inspecting, and photographing them. Each item is assigned an individual ID number and placed in a specific location in our warehouse. A spreadsheet with this information is created and shared with you, ensuring you have access to view your inventory at all times. As new items arrive and are processed, they are added to the spreadsheet. We also have a designated team member available Monday through Friday to answer any questions or concerns about your inventory.

What can I expect on the day of my installation?
Two days prior to installation, we email you a “pull sheet” or list of items we will be delivering based on our inventory. You will then confirm the list, and if any items are missing, we will work with you to track them. On the day of installation, we carefully load the FF&E items onto our trucks. Our uniformed team will drive to the job site, give a courtesy call 30 minutes before arrival, and confirm the address. Upon arrival, our lead driver will conduct a walkthrough with you to create a game plan for the installation. The lead driver will then communicate the plan to the team for an efficient unload and placement of items. We take our time to ensure your vision comes to fruition.

How are damaged or missing items handled by a receiving warehouse?
If we notice damage or a shortage during receiving or inspection, we will email you immediately so you can start the damage or shortage claim process. We provide photos, copies of the Bill of Lading (BOL), and any other necessary paperwork to help you file a claim with the freight company or vendor. We also have a dedicated team member available to assist you through the process.
